2 Fukuoka police officers take tumbles onto tracks, into sea after drinks with coworkers

FUKUOKA -- Two officers working at the same police station in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, fell off a train platform and into the ocean, respectively, after drinking with work colleagues, the Mainichi Shimbun has learned.
According to Fukuoka Prefectural Police, two inspectors at Orio Police Station had afterwork drinks with two superintendents from the same station on the night of Sept. 22. After the four set out for home, one inspector in his 50s fell off the JR Akama Station platform in the city of Munakata shortly after 9:30 p.m., forcing an express train to make an emergency stop and disrupting railway operations.
Meanwhile, the other inspector, also in his 50s, fell off a pier in the city of Fukuoka's Higashi Ward at around 11:30 p.m. before he was rescued by police officers responding to an emergency call.
