Japan education board official suspended over child porn videos
KOFU -- The education board of Yamanashi Prefecture, west of Tokyo, announced on that it had suspended a male official for three months as punishment for possessing child pornography movies.
The Yamanashi Prefectural Education Board has not disclosed the official's age and the school where he worked, stating, "If the person is identified, it will cause excessive social punishment against him."
According to the board and other sources, the official received a summary order from the Kofu Summary Court on Jan. 8, 2020, fining him 300,000 yen for possessing 14 child pornography movies in late March 2019. He was accused of violating the anti-child pornography law.
He worked as a teacher at a public school before he was transferred to the education board office in April 2019.
