The suspect, 41-year-old Naoki Takahashi, a resident of the prefectural city of Kashima, has admitted to the actions, according to the Ibaraki Prefectural Police's Kamisu Police Station.
Police allege the incident took place at around 2 p.m. on March 6 at the men's workplace in the city of Kamisu. Takahashi's colleague, a dispatch worker aged 32, sustained injuries after an industrial-use air compressor was pressed against his trousers near his backside, and then fired.
According to the police station, the man then fell to the floor, and Takahashi called the 119-emergency number. The man was then dispatched to hospital by ambulance, and appears to have suffered serious injuries.
